A new wine-focused bar has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Opal on Pearl, the fresh arrival is located at 4250 Pearl Road in Old Brooklyn.
The business comes courtesy of hospitality industry veteran Tony Mellon, reports Cleveland Scene, and is in the space formerly occupied by Drink Bar and Grill. Wine, beer and cocktails are on offer.
On the menu, there are small plates of stuffed dates, warm olives, baked goat cheese, chorizo empanadas and stuffed banana peppers. The establishment also offers cheese and charcuterie plates featuring locally cured meats accompanied by roasted red peppers, cornichons (tart pickles) and spicy mustard. Sides include smashed crispy fingerling potatoes, grilled vegetables, charred Brussels sprouts and warm almonds.
Opal on Pearl has just one five-star review on Yelp so far.
"Incredible wines and side plates," wrote Francis O., who reviewed the new spot on July 20. "It's in the perfect location between downtown and the west suburbs. It has a comfortable atmosphere and it's beautifully decorated."
Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Opal on Pearl is open from 4 p.m.–midnight Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 4 p.m.-1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday and Monday.)
