An international chain serving Asian fusion food has opened up shop in south Charlotte. Called Poké Bar, the fresh arrival is located at 9816 Rea Road, Suite A, in the Blakeney shopping plaza. It has another Charlotte location in Midtown.
"We believe fast food should be fresh food," the business says on its website, touting its premium ingredients and service.
At Poké Bar, expect bowls with a base option of rice, noodles, tortilla chips or greens. Protein options include shrimp, tuna, salmon, albacore, octopus and more. Look for sauces like sesame oil, ponzu, spicy mayo and sweet chili. Round out your meal with sides such as cucumber salad, imitation crab and seaweed salad.
With a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Poké Bar seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Nancy O., who reviewed the new spot on July 6, wrote, "I was expecting there to be much more kinks in a new restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and loved how the staff helped me through the process of my first experience with poke food."
And Rob S. wrote, "Everything was fresh and the rice had a great taste. I had the tuna, spicy tuna and shrimp. The spicy tuna had good flavor but was low on the spice scale. I left full and enjoyed my meal."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Poké Bar is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
