Itching to explore the newest businesses to open in Lower Downtown? From a cocktail bar with French dip sandwiches to an '80s-themed Cuban nightclub, read on for a rundown of the newest businesses to debut in this part of Denver.

Pony Up

Pony Up is a cocktail bar and sandwich spot that specializes in French dips.

You can score a classic French dip sandwich, but the menu also has unique takes on the classic, including the Saigon, with lemongrass pork, cilantro, basil and jalapeños; and the Alameda Street classic, made with sea salt, rosemary, mayonnaise and beef jus.

Cocktail offerings include the Grande Macha-Colada, mixed with aged rum, coconut cream, pineapple and mocha green tea; and the Mezcizzle My Swizzle, made with mezcal, green chartreuse, honey and lime. 

With a five-star Yelp rating out of 27 reviews, Pony Up has been generating positive attention.

Shannon M., who reviewed the spot on July 27, said, "There are many things that make Pony Up a must-stop: the relaxed Denver atmosphere, friendly and unpretentious staff, out-of-this-world French dip sandwich variations, fresh ingredients, cool cocktail menu, reasonable prices and a perfectly '80s playlist."

Yelper Lisa A. added, “Everything was perfect. The drinks, the staff, the food — so excited for this restaurant."  

Pony Up is open from 11:30 a.m.–2 a.m. daily.

Lit Nightclub

Lit Nightclub is a tri-level dance club that offers local hip-hop and reggae DJs nightly. On Sunday, it has an extra-long day party that runs from 1:30 p.m.-2 a.m. And the venue's kitchen offers a selection of food, like street tacos, wings, sliders, salads and more, alongside a full bar that has shots, cocktails, beer and wine.

With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp, Lit Nightclub has been receiving positive attention.

Mannalle E., who reviewed it on July 6, wrote, "My favorite club to go to when I'm in Denver! So much hospitality, the staff is gorgeous, the food is fabulous and the rooftop is to die for! This nightclub is also a great place for day meetings and parties."

Samantha S. added, "The atmosphere is always fun and energetic. The staff is super on top of their game! The bottle service is the way to go if you ask me. I'm a big fan of the hookahs, too. It's also got a pretty dope rooftop."

Lit Nightclub is open from 9 p.m.–2 a.m. on Wednesday-Saturday and 1:30 p.m.–2 a.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)

Miami Vibez

Miami Vibez is an '80s-themed Cuban nightclub with cocktails, Cuban fare and live DJs.

The menu is be served from lunch through the late evening. The first floor is home to the main dining and bar area, and is designed with relaxation in mind, the website notes. The high-energy second floor, with neon art-deco decor, is where EDM and top 40 music is pumped, whereas the third floor is designed to look like a throwback '80s record room where you can lounge and conversate.

The new spot has just one review thus far on Yelp, which puts it at five stars.

On July 1, Tiffany S. wrote, "The drinks were amazing! I tried the leeche mojito... so good! ... I'm still thinking of it, and I'm not really a drinker. We didn't get to try the food because we had an event to attend, but we will be back very soon."

Miami Vibez is open from 11 a.m.–2 a.m. on weekdays, 4 p.m.–2 a.m. on Saturday, and noon–2 a.m. on Sunday.
