Mango's Presents: Free Absolut Tasting

On Wednesday, the Midtown nightclub and bar Mango's is offering free Absolut vodka cocktails on its patio to celebrate the soft opening of its new M Bar at Mango's. Cocktails include the Melon Ball, Summer Splash and Son of a Beach.

August Zero Waste Class

Refill Madness is an eco-friendly soap and cleaning products store in Midtown Sacramento that allows customers to bring in their own refillable containers and purchase products ranging from hand lotion to laundry detergent by the ounce.
Thursday evening at the Colonial Heights Library, the company will be hosting a free discussion about decreasing one's plastic and carbon footprint, with guest speaker Shannon Davis.

Labor Day Weekend Craft Beer Crawl

Next up, on Friday there will be a craft beer pub crawl starting in Old Sacramento and visiting eight establishments in walking distance. For $16, participants get one 6-9 ounce craft beer at each bar. Destinations will be listed on the tickets when they are picked up that evening.

Film Screening - Spirits Dawn

Finally, on Saturday at the Colonial Theatre, there will be a screening of the anthology film Spirits Dawn, composed of short films on the topic of Hmong spirituality by five different Hmong directors: Phoua Chang (Seev Lis Yeeg), Mai Kou Vue (Hlub Ib Nxeej Ntub), Ntxawg Moua (The Soul Hunter), Dan Yaj (Ntsuj), and Touacha Her (Spirit Beside Me).
The Minnesota-based, Kickstarter-funded film is also the project of creative producers Kang Vang and Seng Yang.
When: Saturday, September 1, 6-9 p.m.
