1. Frank's Pizza & Pasta
Topping the list is Frank's Pizza & Pasta, a local favorite for 35 years that uses made-fresh-daily dough and housemade tomato sauce. It specializes in thin-crust, Neapolitan-style and thick-crust, Sicilian-style pizzas.
Beyond pizza, the long menu also includes appetizers like calamari and sautéed spinach, soups and salads, and entrees from pasta primavera to shrimp scampi. Located at 6620 Belair Road in Overlea, it is the highest rated affordable pizza spot in Baltimore, boasting 4.5 stars out of 65 reviews on Yelp.
2. Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza
Next up is the Inner Harbor's Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, situated at 600 E. Pratt St., Suite 104. The international chain uses a wood-fired oven to quickly bake up pizzas as they're ordered. Most diners build their own from a long list of veggies, meats, cheeses and sauces, all for one price.
The pizzeria also offers signature recipes, like the Meat Lover (pepperoni, crumbled meatballs, red onion, mozzarella and red sauce) and the Red Vine (ovalini mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan, basil, red sauce and olive oil drizzle). With four stars out of 133 reviews on Yelp, Blaze has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for a low-priced option.
3. Pizza Studio
Next up, Charles Village's Pizza Studio, located at 3201 St. Paul St., Suite 8858 D, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving it four stars out of 110 reviews. It is also a chain offering unlimited toppings as you build your own pizza.
Customize the pizza by choosing a crust (traditional, rosemary, whole grain and flaxseed, Firecracker and gluten free), sauce (spicy Buffalo, chipotle tomato, basil pesto, among others), and from a wide range of cheese, veggie and meat toppings. There are also signature and build-your-own salad options.
4. Pasta Mista
Then there's Pasta Mista in Canton, another low-priced go-to that has four stars out of 97 Yelp reviews. It's mostly New York-style thin-crust pizza here, though there are also a few thick-crust and stuffed double-crust offerings as well.
Build your own, or try signature recipes like the one with ziti pasta, tomato sauce, sausage, and three cheeses, or the no-sauce Murillo that comes with hot banana peppers, mushrooms, onions, oregano, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
