A new addition to Capitol Hill's LGBTQ nightlife scene has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Union, the gay bar and lounge is located at 1318 E. Union St.
The bar says it's serving up cocktails and bites in a relaxed atmosphere with a fireplace lounge and outdoor patio, per its website. Beer and wine are also on offer.
On the menu, look for baked brie with apples, toasted walnuts and crostini; the Area 51 burger with barbecue sauce, caramelized onions and roasted cherry peppers; and a Cobb salad. Other offerings include flatbread pizzas, sandwiches and paninis.
Union has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp based on three reviews thus far.
Jeffrey L, who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 2, wrote, "Strong drinks, great atmosphere. I love the layout of this place. It has an outdoor area, which is great for summer! ... The bartenders are super nice. And some of them are familiar from other bars. The video bar has a nice mix of modern and classic songs."
Yelper Jason J. said, "Great space, great staff, a wicked welcome to the Capitol Hill neighborhood."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Union is open from 2 p.m.-2 a.m. daily.
