A new organic store, offering juice and smoothies, acai bowls and more, has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to Barclay Downs, called Clean Juice, is located at 2927 Selwyn Ave.
Owned by married couple Kat and Landon Eckles, the Charlotte-based chain — with several outposts in the city — has expanded across the country since the company was established in 2014.
Clean Juice offers iced juice combinations like orange, lemon and ginger, and spinach, kale, celery, cucumber and lemon. Smoothies packed with fruit, vegetables, coconut water and more are also on offer. Açaí, oat bowls, and avocado or almond toast, round out the food menu.
With a 3.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Clean Juice has gotten a fair response.
Tom G., who reviewed the new spot on August 10, wrote, "This place rocks! The service was friendly and swift, and they really provide a great experience. There's exciting flavors too."
And Martha S. wrote, "The staff was friendly and I ordered both avocado toast and the recovery one smoothie. Both very yummy and I enjoyed my breakfast!"
