Charlotte-based chain Showmars has opened the doors to a new eatery in Wake Forest. Offering a blend of Greek, Southern and American cuisines, the new addition is located at 1009 Stadium Drive, Suite 128.
"Showmars is excited to expand its fast-casual concept with even more families across the Carolinas," Dean Peroulas, Showmars’ general partner, told the Charlotte Observer.
Sandwiches include the World Famous Fish Sandwich, made with wild-caught, sustainable fried flounder filet and tartar sauce, and the California chicken pita with avocado spread and Mediterranean aioli. Vegetarians, check out the Beyond Burger, a plant-based sandwich served with lettuce, tomato, pickles and chipotle mayo.
Mini meals include crispy chicken tenders, popcorn shrimp, gyro slices, mac and cheese and more. For fresh sides, expect fruit, retro wrinkle fries, Mediterranean pasta, coleslaw, hummus and pita and more. End your meal with desserts like baklava, cookies and brownies.
With a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival has already made a good impression.
Kristina H., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 2, wrote, "The establishment was very clean, the associates very friendly and helpful and overall a nice atmosphere. The food was on point. The gyro was very good and fresh. The flounder was seasoned perfectly and was fried in fresh oil and the drinks are fabulous!"
Yelper Shameka H. added, “Very good food! We had the mini shrimp plates and the flounder and shrimp. Seasoned well!”
