Looking for a new coffee shop? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 827 N. Howard St. in Mount Vernon, the newcomer is called Dear Globe.
The cafe is an outlet for the roastery's single-source and blended coffees. The coffee comes from small producers in regions like Costa Rica and Tanzania. You can buy bags of roasted beans to prepare at home, or have an espresso or other coffee drink made on the premises. A few pastries are available for munching.
Dear Globe has just one review on Yelp, which gives it a five-star rating thus far.
Laura M., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 4, wrote, "Excellent micro-lot coffee, small-batch roasted. I had the Ethiopian yirgacheffe and my boyfriend had the tropical green iced tea. Cute atmosphere for studying or getting some work done."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Dear Globe is open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
