First Draft Taproom & Kitchen debuts in North Loop with 54 self-serve tapsPhoto: Jackie R./Yelp

A new pour-your-own beer bar has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to North Loop, called First Draft Taproom & Kitchen, is located at 324 N. Sixth Ave.

This spot has 54 self-serve taps stocked with a variety of craft beers and hard ciders. Pour as little or as much as you'd like and pay by the ounce.

Sip on a hoppy IPA, a heavy porter or a light ale and pair it with fare such as mac and cheese, walleye tacos, a burger or crispy chicken sandwich.

The bar also hosts parties and events. Check out its website for more information and a full menu.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has been warmly received by patrons.

Alyssa M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 17, wrote, "I love that I can sample a bunch of different breweries and types of beer without having to drink an entire pint or seriously annoy my server! First Draft is exactly what you want for trying out new beers from your own area and beyond."

And Jackie R. wrote, "There's nothing better than beer, except when you can have all the beer. As much or as little as you want of each kind? Yes, please."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. First Draft Taproom & Kitchen is open from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
