Fast-food joint Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers continues to expand with a new eatery at 11708 Retail Drive in Wake Forest.
The chain specializes in the Original Double steakburger: premium, lean ground beef slathered with Freddy’s seasoning, two slices of melting cheese, mustard, onions and crunchy pickle planks, all on a toasted bun.
Other menu items include the crispy chicken sandwich with crunchy pickles and an array of hot dog options, topped with chili, cheeses, mustard, onions and more. For dessert, check out Freddy's frozen custards; specifically, the concrete, which is Freddy’s fresh and creamy frozen custard blended with mix-ins like chocolate fudge, caramel, candy pieces or fruit.
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has received mixed reviews thus far.
Yelper Kaitlyn C. T., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 13, wrote, "This place wins for the slowest service ever. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and it took them over 20 minutes to get my order out."
But Shannon B. had a better experience, writing, "Pretty good. They offer lettuce wraps for those with gluten issues. And so many options for custard treats. It's my kid's new favorite spot."
