Looking to chow down on some Japanese noodles? A new spot has you covered. Called Marugame Udon, the fresh arrival is located at 8500 Beverly Blvd., Suite 105, on the ground level of the Beverly Center. It has another LA outpost in Sawtelle.
This fast-growing global chain — with over 1,000 locations in 12 countries — is part of the recent Los Angeles rapid expansion track, Eater Los Angeles reports, with plans to continue its growth to Orange County this November.
Food is served cafeteria-style with an array of affordable udon dishes to choose from. Customers can choose from both hot and cold options such as soy-based kake udon, curry, beef and chicken.
Add-ins range from tempura selections like fishcakes and sweet potatoes to toppings such as tuna mayo and crab meat. (You can view the full menu here.)
Marugame Udon has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 15 reviews on Yelp.
Kazu S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Aug. 24, wrote, "Totally authentic Japanese udon experience. ... The udon and soup flavor is very authentic and yummy. So is the decor — bright, clean and beautiful."
