Hashtag Lunchbag at The Promontory

Bring a $10 donation and a pair of helping hands to The Promontory this Saturday morning to help feed homeless Chicagoans. With this ethos, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" in mind, you'll help assemble and distribute 1,000 lunches to members of the local homeless community.

Out of Space: Big Evanston Block Party

Celebrate the season with the Evanston community at the free Out of Space block party. The 10th annual block party, sponsored by Half Acre Beer Company, will feature a lineup of live performers — including School of Rock, Dos Santos and Guided by Voices — throughout the afternoon.

OHMME at Thalia Hall

Deemed the “Heart of Chicago’s Music Community” by Vice's Noisey, OHMME is set to take the stage at Thalia Hall this Saturday night. Consisting of two 20-somethings — multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriters Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart, the homegrown two-piece rock band is a fixture in the local experimental music scene. The duo has collaborated with the likes of Tweedy, Whitney, Chance The Rapper, and recently released its debut full-length album, "Parts."

Free show at Emporium Chicago

Last but far from least, arcade bar Emporium Wicker Park is hosting a free show packed with four local acts this Sunday night. Guests will enjoy the four-piece instrumental post-metal band Zaius, the Americana metal outfit Huntsmen, the progressive instrumental rock trio Coyote Man and the four-piece sludge metal band Pale Horseman.
