A brand-new Chinese restaurant has opened for business in the neighborhood. The new addition to Capitol Hill, called Dao Tai House, is located at 1621 12th Ave., Suite 102.
On the regular menu, offerings include clay pot pork, candied yams, taro beef curry and lobster tails with green onions in ginger. Or try a selection from the premium menu, which requires orders to be placed two days in advance. Look for options like Sichuan boiled fish, salt and pepper crab and dry-braised extra-large prawns.
Pair your meal with a smoothie, milk tea or fruit tea, then indulge in shaved ice or housemade ice cream. (See the menus here.)
Dao Tai House has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp.
Zakeel M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Aug. 18, wrote, "This restaurant was an amazing addition to Capitol Hill. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to. I ordered the chicken skewers and was absolutely amazed with how delicious they were."
And Keerthana K. wrote, "The ambiance of the place is great. The blend of the brick wall and high ceilings makes the interiors pop. Enjoyed the eggplant, potato, pepper. The portion size was big."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Dao Tai House is open from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday–Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday.
