A new lesbian sports bar has opened for business in the neighborhood. Located at 2319 18th St. NW in Adams Morgan, the fresh arrival is called A League of Her Own.
Located below the also-new gay sports bar Pitchers — and operated by the same owners — A League of Her Own is a dedicated space for queer women in the neighborhood. It will offer the same food menu as Pitchers, which means bites like sweet potato tots, a teriyaki sandwich with grilled pineapple and pepperoni pizza. There's a full bar with beers on tap, a handful of televisions that play movies and sports, and video games.
The new addition has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.
Keyser S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 12, wrote, "The drink specials were on point and of course I am thrilled to have a full-time lesbian bar. The atmosphere is super relaxed and welcoming (my friends were gay guys if that matters) and we had great conversations with other guests at the bar."
Yelper Dani G. added, “Great bartenders who know their stuff and are very nice. It was great seeing all of us in the community coming out and supporting this place.”
Head on over to check it out: A League of Her Own is open from 5 p.m.–midnight on Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 p.m.–2 a.m. on Thursday, 5 p.m.–3 a.m. on Friday, and 1 p.m.–3 a.m. on weekends. (It's closed on Monday.)
