An Oakland police offer is in critical condition after colliding with two vehicles, including one semitruck, this morning at the Port of Oakland.
Just before 7 a.m., The Oakland Police Department reported that the patrol vehicle struck another vehicle then collided with a semitruck on the 1900 block of Middle Harbor Road, near the Oakland International Container Terminal.
The East Bay Times adds that the collision occurred around 2:49 a.m., as the officer was responding to a call regarding a suspicious person in the area.
The officer, whose identity has not been released, was extricated from the wreckage by firefighters and underwent surgery at an area hospital.
