Man Vs. Pho

Man Vs. Pho is a Vietnamese restaurant that recently opened at 3133 Eastern Ave. in Canton. The name derives from the proprietors' appearance on the Travel Channel's "Man v. Food" show to discuss the broth they make at their other restaurant, Catonsville's Pho Saigon.
At this location, the broth — which is cooked for 12 hours and made with beef bones — is served with a choice of steak, brisket, meatballs and other proteins. In addition to the usual phở rice noodles, you have the choice of egg or clear noodles, and you can add veggies like corn and fried shallots along with traditional toppings like bean sprouts and jalapeños.
HH Tea

New to 30 W. Biddle St. in Midtown is HH Tea. It's part of a Taiwan-based franchise and serves Taiwanese-style teas, like yogurt, taro bubble and lime drop green teas. It also sells imported Asian snacks, like chips and candy, as well as gifts like stuffed animals.
Dear Globe

Now open at 827 N. Howard St. in Mount Vernon is Dear Globe. It's a coffee roastery and a cafe serving espressos and pour-overs. The coffees come from small producers in Costa Rica, Tanzania, Indonesia and elsewhere. Doughnuts, scones and other baked goods are available to accompany your drink.
