Sea Bags brings totes made from recycled sails to new shop in AnnapolisPhoto: Courtney K./Yelp

A new store that specializes in nautically inspired totes and accessories has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh addition, called Sea Bags, is located at 168 Main St. in Annapolis.

This Maine-based retailer, which has shops across the Northeast, turns used sails into totes, handbags, duffel bags and more. Made in the U.S., the products are hand stitched and printed with nautical images, marine life and colorful patterns. The shop also sells accessories and home decor, like jewelry, keychains, doormats and candles. View the items on Sea Bags' website.

It's still early days for the fledgling business — it's got just one review on Yelp thus far.

Courtney K., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 5, wrote, "Bottom Line: Festive bags and totes of all sizes in all colors made by upcycling old sails. I love the bags with fun summer beach colors as well as those with fancier silver and gold tones. Some bags are simplistic and very reminiscent of a sail while others have been printed with wildly fun colors."

Head on over to check it out: Sea Bags is open from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday.
