Craving pizza? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The downtown newcomer, called Superfine Pizza, is located at 1101 S. San Pedro St. At the helm is Steve Samson, the same chef behind LA Italian restaurants Rossoblu and Sotto.
Superfine Pizza serves up a fresh take on thin-crust pizza "that blends attributes from both New York and Neapolitan styles baked in an electric oven," Eater reports.
Try a specialty pie like the ES-CA-ROLE — a pizza layered with red onions, salt-cured olives, smoked provolone, fresh escarole and more. Patrons can order a pizza whole or by the slice, and add toppings like Fresno chilies, capers, mushrooms and bacon. (You can view the full menu here.)
The fresh arrival has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Diana S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 6, wrote, "Cute, clean, tasty — what more can you ask for! Come try this place out. Promise you won't regret it."
“Spicy honey for the win!" added Yelper Mei L. "The crust is amazing. Think NY thin crust with a healthy dose of cheese and top-quality ingredients.”
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Superfine Pizza is open from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekdays. (It's closed on weekends.)
