Looking to try the best bakeries around? Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top bakeries in Minneapolis, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to meet your needs.

1. Patisserie 46

First up is Kingfield's Patisserie 46, situated at 4552 Grand Ave. South. With 4.5 stars out of 302 reviews on Yelp, the French-style bakery has proven to be a local favorite. On its website, the bakery says it "pairs the finest baked goods with a down-to-earth atmosphere where people can truly connect."

Look for both sweet and savory menu options like smoked bacon quiche, ham baguettes, chocolate croissants and pecan cinnamon pull-aparts. A variety of ice cream flavors are on offer, as are caffeinated beverages. 

2. Isles Bun & Coffee

Uptown's Isles Bun & Coffee, located at 1424 W. 28th St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bakery, which offers coffee, tea and more, 4.5 stars out of 295 reviews. The bakery touts its made-from-scratch delicacies and friendly staff. It was established in 1993, with ownership changing hands in 2000.

At Isles Bun & Coffee, noteworthy options include the homemade puppy dog tails (small, twisted versions of a classic cinnamon roll), cookies, cakes, sweet buns, scones and fresh-squeezed juices. Check out the full menu here.

3. A Baker's Wife

A Baker's Wife in Standish is another go-to, with four stars out of 362 Yelp reviews. Head over to 4200 28th Ave. South to try the baked goods for yourself. Look for freshly baked bread, cookies, brownies, doughnuts and cakes as well as croissants, quiche and small sandwiches. 

Yelper Ori S. wrote, "Don't miss the lemon bar and traditional tea cake. So nice to have this place in the neighborhood where everything is fresh and actually homemade."

4. The Copper Hen

Over in Whittier, check out The Copper Hen, which has earned four stars out of 356 reviews on Yelp. You can find the bakery and New American spot, which offers desserts and more, at 2515 Nicollet Ave.

This full-service restaurant offers brunch, lunch and dinner fare in addition to its cakes and desserts. Wedding cakes are on offer, and visitors can reserve the dining area for an event. Look for baked goodies like rose water crème brûlée with raspberries and candied pistachios; a cast-iron chocolate chip cookie served hot with vanilla ice cream and caramel; or a handmade cheesecake or pie. 5. Rustica Bakery

Finally, there's Rustica Bakery, an Uptown favorite that first opened in 2004 and now has four stars out of 316 reviews on Yelp. Stop by 3220 W. Lake St. to hit up the business the next time you're craving something sweet. Rotating breads, pastries, desserts like cookies and shortbreads, as well as traditional cafe food served from 7 a.m.–2 p.m. daily are on offer.
