September Zero Waste Class

Wednesday evening at the SacYard Community Tap House, eco-friendly Midtown soap and cleaning products shop Refill Madness will be hosting a free talk about decreasing one's plastic and carbon footprint, with guest speaker Amanda Forcella, a trash-free lifestyle proponent.

The taphouse has an outdoor patio with plenty of space for kids to play, and beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Just Between Friends Sacramento Fall/Winter Sale (Opening Day Admission)

Just Between Friends is a twice-yearly community consignment sale for children's items and clothing as well as books, games and more. Registering saves you the $2 ticket fee at the door beginning Friday at noon.

Teachers, childcare professionals, military personnel, first-time parents or grandparents and those willing to pay $5 or $10 can get in even earlier to the presale (Thursday) for first crack at these gently used children's and maternity items. See the website for details.

25th Anniversary Open House

Happy Tails, Sacramento's no-kill, volunteer-driven, cage-free animal rescue organization, is hosting its 25th anniversary celebration and fundraiser on Saturday at noon.

The free event will have raffles with prizes, live music, food, drinks, games,  a tour of the sanctuary and a chance to meet adoptable animals.
