A new spot for churros, ice cream and more has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Churroholic, the new addition is located at 4138 S. New Braunfels Ave., Suite 103, on the Southeast Side.
The California-based franchise specializes in churros, including flavors like Chocolate & Almond, Matcha & Pebbles and Cookies & Cream. You can also score a churro ice cream sandwich, churro sundae and more.
Beverages include bubble tea, milkshakes and coffees like the horchata latte and the Mexican Coco Spice with Mexican chocolate, steamed milk and espresso. Snacks like chicken wings, tofu bites and calamari are also on offer. (See the full menu here.)
Churroholic has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of 25 reviews on Yelp.
Jacob G., who was among the first to review it on Sept. 2, wrote, "If you love sweets, this is the place to be. Churros are all made fresh and you can really tell the difference. I had the churro sundae and horchata iced coffee, which were delicious."
Natalia G. added, "This place was awesome! The churros were delicious and so was the actual ice cream!"
