A new breakfast and brunch spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Famous Toastery, the chain's newest location can be found at 1640 Sardis Road North in Matthews.
Breakfast specialties include huevos rancheros: two eggs any style served over black beans, cheddar and feta cheese with crispy tortilla strips, then topped with cilantro, pico de gallo and avocado slices. Another option is the Famous Hash, a blend of house-made corned beef and shredded potatoes topped with two eggs any style and house-made hollandaise with a side of toast.
Benedicts, flapjacks, French toast and build-your-own omelets are also available. (Find the full menu here.)
The new arrival has gotten good reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
Belinda C. wrote, "The eggs were cooked to perfection, and there was delicious coffee and the sweetest salty bacon. The owner came to our table on second visit and was super nice and welcoming."
