Whaling In Oklahoma

First up, Whaling In Oklahoma is a cocktail bar and Japanese-influenced New American spot that has opened at 647 Tremont St. in South End.
Helmed by well-known local restaurateur Tim Maslow, Whaling in Oklahoma serves creative dishes with a mix of local and imported ingredients. Menu offerings include salt-grilled amberjack; a chicken, cucumber and spicy miso salad; and raw sea urchin with shiso (an herb) and fried mochi. There's also a tasting menu that includes the chef's favorite dishes.
Cocktails are equally exotic. The Umeshu Spritz is made from Aperol, plum wine and passion fruit, while the Neon Forest is Midori, kaffir, aloe, Calpico (a yogurt-like soft drink) and lime. There's a long list of sake as well, plus beer and wine.
Tasty Pot

Tasty Pot is a California-based hot pot chain that recently opened an outlet at 194 Harvard Ave. in Allston.
It takes an eclectic approach to the Taiwanese version of the dish by incorporating Thai, Korean, Japanese and Sichuan flavors. Choose the vegetables you want, the noodle type and your spiciness level, then supervise the boil over hot coals at your table.
Wash down your meal with one of the many tea options, including milk cream tea, milk tea with boba, and matcha lattes.
Nathálie

Finally, Nathálie is a wine bar that made its debut at 186 Brookline Ave. in Fenway. Sibling to downtown's Haley.Henry wine bar, Nathálie serves wines from small-scale, female producers and makes each available by the glass or half-bottle, to encourage exploration.
It also boasts a menu of small plates like lamb-stuffed tomato, anchovy with butter and parsley, and grilled eggplant with crispy garlic.
