Pollo saltado, for example, is grilled chicken breast sautéed with tomatoes, onions, celery, green peppers, jalapeño peppers, french fries and cilantro. Or, consider the grilled New York strip steak topped with sautéed Spanish onions, green peppers and tomatoes. Each is served with white rice, beans and guacamole or salad on the side.

Dyllan's Raw Bar and Grill
1054 31st St. NW

Dyllan's Raw Bar and Grill is a new seafood-focused eatery serving regional American cuisine in Georgetown's Canal Square building.
The raw bar offers oysters from both coasts, as well as clams, ceviche and a handful of maki rolls. Seafood main dishes include sautéed red snapper with kimchi, and top neck clams with spinach linguini. There's beef and poultry, too, including a marinated hanger steak and a buttermilk-brined half chicken.
The house mezcal cocktail is a highlight of the full bar, which also has a large wine selection.
Yelpers are excited about Dyllan's Raw Bar and Grill, which currently holds five stars out of six reviews on the site.
Daniela Q., who reviewed it on Aug. 8, wrote, "All of the staff were incredibly friendly, and I don't think you can find a cozy table like the one we sat in surrounded by stone, brick and pine anywhere else in Georgetown. Plus our food and drinks were terrific."
Yelper Jim H. wrote, "Food service top notch. Some small issues, but for a newer restaurant I would say exceptional. I recommend you check this place out if you can get a reservation."
Dyllan's Raw Bar and Grill is open from 5–11 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday and 5 p.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday and Monday.)
The Dough Jar
1332 Wisconsin Ave. NW

Next, The Dough Jar is a dessert spot that recently debuted on Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown. It's the first brick-and-mortar location for the business, which leaves out the eggs and heat treats the flour to remove any concerns over eating raw dough.
Yes, you can get it in a jar, perhaps as a gift, but most customers will simply get a scoop or two in a cup or waffle cone, with perhaps some sprinkles or other topping. Among the dough flavors are peanut butter and chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and the cinnamon and sugar snickerdoodle.
There's also ice cream, which you can add to your cookie dough, along with cupcakes, brownies and milkshakes.
The Dough Jar is off to a strong start with 4.5 stars out of nine reviews on Yelp.
Yelper Anna G., who reviewed it on Aug. 8, wrote, "This place is small but filled with many different cookie dough flavors that all sound delicious. The workers were incredibly nice and let our big group try all of the flavors."
The Dough Jar is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.
90 Second Pizza
1077 Wisconsin Ave. NW

90 Second Pizza is a casual eatery that offers personal-size pies. Why 90 seconds? Because the pizzas are fired in a hot brick oven — up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit — on a volcanic stone surface, and so cook that quickly. The result is a thin, Neapolitan-style crust that folds neatly as you eat.
Choose from 12 signature recipes, from the Margherita to the meat lovers.
As for drinks, the shop has a range of San Pellegrino sodas, including grapefruit, pomegranate and orange.
90 Second Pizza currently holds four stars out of 12 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.
Yelper Larry C., who reviewed it on Aug. 8, wrote, "Being from New York, I know pizza. These guys have a great product. The cooking technology is rapid and is as close as possible to brick-oven crust."
Yelper Andres P. wrote, "Simple elegance of pizza made by real Italians. If it didn't come out so hot, I'd eat it in 90 seconds too!"
90 Second Pizza is open from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.
America Eats Tavern
3139 M St. NW

Finally, America Eats Tavern is a New American spot from local restaurateur Jose Andres. Known for international cuisine at places like Jaleo, Zaytina and Oyamel, this latest undertaking from the chef shows off American classics in a new light.
There's barbecue (brisket, pulled pork, sausage, among others) cooked over cherry wood and served with rye bread, pickles and house barbecue sauce. A fried egg sandwich is served with aged cheddar, caramelized onion, tomato, barbecue pork belly and creole mustard. Grilled corn on the cob comes with butter and Old Bay seasoning.
The wine list explores mostly American producers from California to New Mexico. Desserts include lemon meringue pie and cherries served over crushed ice.
With a 3.5-star rating out of 50 reviews on Yelp, America Eats Tavern is still finding its way, but it's early days.
Yelper Francisco B. wrote, "This place is bringing the house down with all the fascinating American food. The ribs and brisket definitely were my favorites and the amazing mac and cheese. I will come back to try more dishes. Excellent service as well."
America Eats Tavern is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday.
