
In search of a new favorite jazz and blues spot?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top venues for jazz and blues around Denver, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best places to venture next time you're pining for jazz and blues tunes.
1. Nocturne

Topping the list is Nocturne. Located at 1330 27th St. in Five Points, the cocktail bar and New American restaurant is the highest-rated jazz and blues spot in Denver, boasting 4.5 stars out of 203 reviews on Yelp.
You can catch nightly live jazz performances Tuesday through Sunday, plus late-night sets on Friday and Saturday. The jazz lineup generally consists of local and regional jazz artists, but it features national touring artists as well.
Yelper Steph C., who reviewed it on Aug. 14, wrote, "Lovely Art Nouveau jazz supper club supporting local artists situated in the art district. What's not to love? Beautiful decor, impeccable service!"
2. Dazzle

Next up is Central Business District's Dazzle, situated at 1512 Curtis St. With four stars out of 429 reviews on Yelp, the lounge has proven to be a local favorite.
As a jazz and blues venue, it hosts multiple shows each week at various times of day, including during brunch and dinner services. (See the list of upcoming shows here.)
The kitchen serves a menu that includes dishes like the seafood risotto (clams, mussels, scallops, crab, shrimp, chorizo salami and saffron risotto) and the lamb Bolognese with Parmesan cheese and ricotta cavatelli pasta. It also offers cocktails and tap beers. (See the full menu here.)
Chuck H. said, "I have been attending Dazzle in Denver for years. They bring in a wide variety of jazz and blues acts and have good and reasonably priced food. The table service is excellent, and the sight lines in the new location are good."
3. El Chapultepec

Over in Lower Downtown, check out El Chapultepec, which has earned four stars out of 150 reviews on Yelp. You can find the Mexican eatery, dive bar and jazz and blues spot at 1962 Market St.
It's Denver's oldest jazz and blues club with nightly live music. (See the schedule of events here.) It serves a menu of Mexican fare, including burritos, tacos, tostadas and more.
Yelp reviewer Zachary J. wrote, "This bar is a great place and has a fun atmosphere. Close to all the stuff in downtown Denver. This place is definitely a true dive bar and has that great vibe. Drinks are stiff and affordable and there is live jazz every night."
4. Live@Jack's

Finally, there's Live@Jack's, a Central Business District favorite with four stars out of 79 reviews. Stop by 500 16th St., Suite 320, to hit up the music venue the next time you're in the mood for jazz or blues.
Featuring live music six nights a week, it hosts bands that play jazz, blues, funk, oldies, reggae and more. (See the calendar here.) It's primarily a venue, but serves a small menu of food items like chicken tenders, hot wings, chips and salsa and mozzarella cheese sticks. It also has alcohol, including bottled beers, wines and cocktails.
