A new bakery has made its debut in Capitol Hill. Called Magnolia Bakery, it's located in Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave. NE).

If the name is familiar, it might be because this New York institution made memorable appearances in "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Sex in the City." More specifically, it became famous for its cupcakes, which are available here in flavors from caramel merengue to a jelly-filled peanut butter buttercream.

In addition to cupcakes, Magnolia offers its popular banana pudding and cheesecake. Pair your dessert with a latte, hot or iced.

The new bakery has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp.

Stephanie D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 14, wrote, "I bought banana pudding and a cheesecake. The banana pudding had fresh bananas and vanilla wafers and a lot of pudding. Both my friend and I loved it. I also thought the cheesecake was amazing."

Yelper Zhou W. added, “The place is clean and pretty, and gives off a Southern hospitality vibe. Service was extremely friendly and kind. The banana pudding lives up to the hype — thick, creamy and complex in flavor.”

Magnolia Bakery is now open at Union Station, so stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood.
