Wine and bottle shop Max & Lola Bodega has recently opened its doors in the South End's Gold District. Located at 1501 S. Mint St., the store offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in its coolers and eats like nachos, burritos, quesadillas and more from the food truck outside.
There are 19 taps of wine, sangria, cider and beer on offer, plus specialty grocery items for snacking. The shop also features a dog-friendly outdoor patio and free Wi-Fi.
With a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp, the new business has received a warm reception.
Raquel S., who was the first Yelper to review Max & Lola Bodega on Sept. 5, wrote, "Cute little store that sells beer, wine and snacks. They also have beer and wine by the glass. Lots of outdoor seating where people can hang out. There is a small parking lot and street parking as well. Prices seem in line with South End."
Vicki S. added, "The staff were friendly and offered us recommendations. There's seating inside but I liked sitting out front. The decor is bright and lively with pictures of notable women painted with a rollerset."
