Looking to chow down on some Chinese fare? A new spot has you covered. The new addition downtown, called Bamboo, is located at 1010 S. Flores St., Suite 111. The locally owned eatery features housemade sauces, chef specialties and modern decor. It's in the space that formerly housed Kung Fu Kitchen.
On the menu, offerings include Hunan chicken with bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, baby corn and other vegetables in a spicy Hunan sauce; Sichuan beef with red bell peppers, onions and bamboo shoots in a brown sauce; and pepper steak with green bell peppers, yellow onions and black pepper.
With 4.5 stars out of 11 reviews on Yelp, it's off to a good start among locals.
Phillip M., who reviewed it on Sept. 5, wrote, "Great value! Good food at a good price with good service. The spicy egg drop soup was amazing and the lunch special portion was generous."
Libby W. noted, "Came here on a Tuesday night with my husband who loves Chinese food. We were both really impressed. The food was absolutely delicious. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. Super fast and incredibly friendly service."
Bamboo is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
