If poke or tea are what you're after, look no further than this new business. Located downtown at 55 Market Place, Suite 5511, the new addition is called Poke World/Utepia Tea and features Hawaii-themed murals and maritime decor.
The poke menu hangs behind the counter and invites you to design your own bowl by choosing a protein (fish, shrimp, chicken), veggies like jalapeño and onions, and toppings. Or, go with a signature bowl, like spicy ginger chicken. Each is served over rice.
In terms of tea, choices range from bubble tea with fruit to oolong milk tea with milk foam.
Poke World/Utepia Tea has gotten good reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
Megan C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 5, wrote, "I was pleasantly surprised by the drinks. I got the dark oolong bubble tea. The boba is on point — it tastes a lot like the boba back where I live (Shanghai). The bubbles are well cooked and there is a perfect balance of tea flavor and creamer."
And Leon C. wrote, "This is the best poke restaurant in Baltimore, very fresh ingredients and good service. Their tea is very different but in a good way. I'd highly recommend everyone to try it out."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Poke World/Utepia Tea is open from 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday, 10:30 a.m.–11 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday, and noon–9 p.m. on Sunday.
