Craving pizza? You're in luck: a new eatery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Salamone's Pizza, the new arrival is located at 24 N. Tacoma Ave. in Tacoma.
This spot focuses on New York-style pizza by the slice or whole pie and is open seven days a week. Options include the traditional pepperoni pizza; the Village, a veggie pie topped with olives, mushrooms, bell peppers and mushrooms; white pizza and more.
With a four-star rating out of 30 reviews on Yelp so far, Salamone's Pizza is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Chris H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 1, wrote, "Hooray! New York-style pizza right here in Tacoma. I would refer to this place in the same breath as Brooklyn Bros. in Everett, and that's high praise coming from me."
And Samantha S. wrote, "This is the real deal! In New York, this would be amazing pizza. Here, it's the only game in town. The crust is perfection and the sauce and cheese are amazing."
