Farm-to-Fork Festival 2018

On Friday and Saturday on the Capitol Mall, the Farm-to-Fork Festival 2018 will showcase a delicious selection from the Sacramento region's best food, wine and beer producers and purveyors.

Admission is free; food and drink are available for purchase. Attendees can also enjoy live music, live cooking demonstration stages, a kids' zone, and interactive booths. Performers will include The Wood Brothers (Friday) and Dawes (Saturday) — see the website for a full lineup.

The Sacramento Outdoor Film Festival

The second annual Sacramento Outdoor Film Festival will present a free showing of classic movies outdoors in Fremont Park on Friday and Saturday evenings for two weekends. Beer, wine and food truck fare will be available for purchase, with all drink proceeds going to benefit the Front Street Animal Shelter.

This year, the theme is coming-of-age movies; accordingly, this Friday, the first screening will be of The Graduate (1967), followed by Sixteen Candles (1984) on Saturday. Next weekend will see showings of Boyz n the Hood (1991) and Lady Bird (2017).

21st Annual Sacramento Reptile Show

The Sacramento Reptile Show, hosted at the Sacramento Convention Center, is the largest in Northern California. This year it celebrates its 21st anniversary with a venomous reptile display, including king cobras and black mambas; a reptile education center; and Izod, a 10-foot, 100-pound alligator.

The reptile show also features pet reptiles for sale from breeders as well as reptile care products.

Festival of Colors

Holi, the Festival of Colors, is held each year in India in late February or early March. Festival-goers celebrate the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring by tossing colorful powders in the air and at each other.
