A new taco spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The new arrival to the Northwest Side, called Torchy's Tacos, is located at 17627 La Cantera Parkway, Suite 105, in the Rim shopping center. This is the Austin chain's second San Antonio location, along with outposts across Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado.

The taco-heavy menu features breakfast tacos like one stuffed with chorizo, egg and cheese, and fusion fare such as the Brushfire with Jamaican jerk chicken, grilled jalapeños and mango. Other noteworthy taco options include Mr. Orange with blackened salmon, grilled corn and black bean relish and cotija cheese; and the Trailer Park with fried chicken, green chiles, pico de gallo and grated cheddar and jack cheeses with poblano sauce.

Sides include queso and chips, refried black beans, Mexican rice and street corn. (See the full menu here.)

Torchy's Tacos has gotten solid feedback thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Nicole M., who reviewed it on Sept. 9, wrote, "It's in a great location and there's plenty of parking behind the restaurant. If you live or work nearby, I recommend ordering online and going straight to the register for pickup to avoid the long lines. The food is awesome! I've never had a bad taco."

Michelle B. noted, "Great casual eatery. Ambiance is awesome and the tacos measure up. They do not compete with your neighborhood taqueria, but we don't have a lot to choose from out here."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Torchy's Tacos is open from 10 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.–midnight on Friday, 8 a.m.–midnight on Saturday, and 8 a.m.–11 p.m. on Sunday.
