A new restaurant serving modern American cuisine has debuted in the neighborhood. Called Wolf's Tailor, it's located at 4058 Tejon St. in Sunnyside.

On its website, the eatery says its name is a "nod to the craftsman who fashioned sheep’s clothing for the sly wolf," which it compares to chef Kelly Whitaker's fusion of Italian cuisine with Asian night market flavors.

On the menu, you'll see options like the carpaccio cold plate (elk, smoked oysters, fig and spruce), the summer squash skewer with Calabrian chile and oregano, the Mafaldine noodle dish (Koji-charred tomato, garden basil and shiso) and the 7X Brisket plate with bibb lettuce, tomato and wagyu tallow.

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Kimberly D., who reviewed the new spot on Sept. 9, wrote, "Loved everything about the experience: food, drinks and the beautiful space. Also love the garden out back where you can wait until your table is ready, and enjoy a cocktail or simply some conversation. Keep in mind they keep quite a few tables open for walk-ins, so don't let the booked up status online keep you from showing up."

Yelper Marie L. noted, "Such an inventive menu of Italian and Japanese fusion! Highly recommend the piada bread, 7X Brisket, summer squash skewers and pork ribs. Overall, an amazing dining experience!"

Check it out for yourself: dinner is served from 6–11 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. (It's closed Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.)
