BlackGummy presents OBSIDIAN

First up, there's this all-night techno set from Iman Marouf, aka BlackGummy. Presented by Club Glow and hosted at the intimate Soundcheck, come hear the latest from the Mau5trap recording artist. You must be 18 or older.

When: Friday, Oct. 5, 10 p.m.- Saturday, Oct. 6, 3 a.m.

Cellist Truls Mørk and pianist Behzod Abduraimov

On a different note, check out cellist Truls Mørk and pianist Behzod Abduraimov in a free concert at the Library of Congress. Mørk returns to Washington after a 13-year absence, appearing with the young Uzbek who has rapidly established himself as one of the leading pianists of his generation. Mørk and Abduraimov are master musicians and superbly matched partners.

This opening to the Library of Congress's 2018-2019 season will include classics by Beethoven and Prokofiev, and Rachmaninoff’s sonata. Advanced RSVPs are no longer available, but the organizers encourage attendance anyway.

Elevate Nigeria independence celebration 

Finally, Elevate Nigeria celebrates 58 years of Nigerian independence. This dance party will feature DJs like Sam I Am, Claude Di Martian and Ty Tunez playing Afro-beat, hip-hop, dance hall, reggae, zouk, soca and more. Get in free before 11 p.m. if you RSVP. There will be a full bar, plus hookah and bottle service.
