Walk Against Liver Disease

Now in its second year, this event is to promote awareness of liver disease. It's family friendly and will have music, food, concessions and face painting. T-shirts will also be available on the day of the event for $15.

Tricentennial Barn Dance

This event from the International Folk Culture Center celebrates 300 years of dance and music in San Antonio. The venue offers a unique pioneer atmosphere for this authentic barn dance. The dance will be held on the porch of the Land Heritage Institute's Equestrian Center and will have live music from the Cactus Canyon Contra band. You don't have to have a partner and each dance will be taught.
There will also be hayrides out to the original farm house on the land and refreshments.

The Story Collider: Stories from SACNAS

As part of the 2018 National Diversity in STEM conference, the Story Collider will present five true, personal stories about science from members of SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science).
The venue is 21 and up and food will be available to purchase.
When: Saturday, Oct. 13, 6-8 p.m.

Chefs for Chefs Brunch

This benefit brunch is being hosted for Samantha Flores, the manager of the Ramen Bar at Cherrity Bar; she was involved in a hit-and-run accident that has left her unable to work. Proceeds will go to support her financially and help with medical bills.
Some of San Antonio's best chefs will put on this brunch, which will feature bites from the featured chefs, a complimentary cocktail and a silent auction. There will also be a live performance from Finding Friday.
When: Sunday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
