Paws to Party

The sixth annual Paws To Party benefit for the animals of the Front Street Animal Shelter will feature free food and drink samples from regional restaurants, breweries and wineries as well as live music, included with the ticket.

The event is 21 and over only, and only service animals may attend.

Día de Los Muertos Fiesta 2018

The California museum is celebrating the opening of its new exhibit "Celebracion de Almas: Día de Los Muertos 2018" on Friday evening. Food and cocktails from Mayahuel Restaurant & Tequila Museo will be available for sale.

Tickets include a performance and ceremonial blessing by the Maquilli Tonatiuh Aztec Dancers, an I Love Sugar Skulls workshops (additional $15 materials fee), Conjunto Liberacion live music, and free face painting and activities for kids ages 3 and up.

Bikes, Barre & Brews

Local fitness studios Teamride (cycling classes) and Pure Barre (barre classes) are teaming up with Device Brewing Company and local nonprofit Women's Empowerment for a fundraiser benefiting homeless women.

Participation includes a 40-minute indoor cycling class, a 40 minute barre exercise class, and shoe rental if needed. Donors are also invited to stay at Device after the classes are over for beer and mingling.

Fish, Field and Fowl—A Slow Food Sacramento Meal

On Saturday, Chef Brenda Ruiz, a veteran of The Waterboy, The Kitchen, and Biba who has been named a Slow Food USA 2018 Snailblazer, will serve a special backyard dinner al fresco that showcase's the Sacramento region's fall food products. Tickets aren't cheap, but wine and beer are included.

California Freethought Day 2018

At the State Capitol on Sunday, Lodi United will present the 17th annual California Freethought Day, which celebrates the First Amendment, scientific progress and secular rights with speakers, live entertainment, family activities, and an authors' panel.

Admission is free, but attendees at the $25 Sponsor level will get free cold drinks and snacks as well as a commemorative button.
