If you wanted to be taken out to the ball game but couldn't score tickets, all is not lost. There are plenty of top-notch sports bars in Denver to catch the World Series, all of which have more to offer than your typical stadium hot dog, nachos and overpriced beer.
Using Yelp data and our own methodology, Hoodline crunched the numbers to come up with the best sports bars where you can view baseball's biggest series.
1. Cherry Cricket

Topping the list is Cherry Cricket. Located at 2641 E. Second Ave. in the Cherry Creek neighborhood, the burger joint is the most popular sports bar in Denver, boasting four stars out of 2,246 reviews on Yelp.
This spot allows you to build your own burger or sandwich by picking out the type of meat you want and then selecting toppings. It also has options like the Athens Sub (gyro meat, feta, provolone, olives, cucumber, tomato, pepperoncini, tzatziki sauce and herb vinaigrette on a hoagie roll) and the Grande Burrito (Spanish rice, beans, pork green chili and either chicken or shredded beef). (See the menu here.)
Yelper Derek B. wrote, "I go to Cherry Cricket any occasion I get. It has the relaxed atmosphere of a neighborhood bar, but with the great food and beer selection usually reserved for fancy gastropubs. The prices are not bad either!"
2. Highland Tap and Burger

Next up is Highland Tap and Burger, situated at 2219 W. 32nd Ave. With four stars out of 813 reviews on Yelp, the sports bar, which offers burgers, chicken wings and more, has proven to be a local favorite.
The menu offers burgers like the Tap Burger with house sauce, root beer pulled pork, onion rings, American cheese and aged white cheddar; the Chimichurri with iceberg lettuce, aged white cheddar and tomato; and the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with belly bacon, caramelized onion, lettuce, tomato and aged white cheddar. Pair your burger with some signature duck fat fries and a boozy milkshake. (See the full menu here.)
Brian P., who reviewed it on Aug. 29, wrote, "This place has an amazing staff and neighborhood vibe. There are enough beers on tap to satisfy any taste and the food is incredible. The burgers are great, but I also highly recommend the impossible tacos, mac and cheese and queso."
3. Society Sports and Spirits

LoDo's Society Sports and Spirits, located at 1434 Blake St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the sports bar 4.5 stars out of 145 reviews.
It can play more than seven games at a time with sound since it has private booth seating and multiple rooms. The bar offers a list of whiskeys, bourbons and other spirits, plus cocktails and beers. For food, you can score smoked wings, nachos, cheesesteak and more. (See the full menu here.)
Vanessa W. wrote, "This is an awesome bar, all around. Went here to watch a game and the crowd, food and booze were all top notch. Our server, Heather, was upbeat, fun and helpful despite the business!"
4. Bayou Bob's

Then there's Bayou Bob's, a sports bar and Cajun/Creole spot that offers seafood and more downtown. The popular establishment at 1635 Glenarm Place has earned four stars out of 295 Yelp reviews. It features several TVs tuned to the game and a full bar serving beer, wine and cocktails.
The menu offers dishes like the Bourbon Street Chicken (blackened chicken breast served over Bayou rice and smothered in crawfish etouffee), the Bayou Special Po'boy (sliced roast beef topped with Swiss and smothered in a brown gravy with sautéed onions, bell peppers and mushrooms) and the Catfish LaFourche served on a bed of cheese grits, then smothered in crawfish etouffee.
Yelp reviewer Brian O. said, "This is the real deal. As good of Cajun food as you will find in Louisiana. I ordered the crawfish etouffee with a side of jambalaya. Both excellent dishes and would recommend either one."
