A new brewpub has opened its doors in downtown Tacoma's Brewery District. Called Black Fleet Brewing Taproom & Kitchen, it is located at 2302 Fawcett Ave.
The News Tribune reports that the new 10,000-square-foot establishment features a 10-barrel brewing system, a downstairs kitchen and a large dining room.
On its website, Black Fleet says its menu and flavors "are built to blend comfort and adventure with each pint and plate while using Pacific Northwest-inspired ingredients."
Look for house beers like the Fire Ship Smoked Red, Head West Oatmeal Pale Ale and Crimson Sails Red Rye IPA.
Pair your brew with bites like beer-battered fish and chips, beer brats and chili cheese fries.
With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Yelper Stephanie S. wrote, "I like this new spot in Tacoma! They have a huge beer list. I had a Smoked Red, which wasn't too smoky and had a good flavor. They have a small food menu, perfect for snacks."
And Kirsti L. wrote, “Awesome vibes! Great food! All the brews are inventive and creative. Smoked Red is the best smoke taste balance, Silent Harbor Stout is the perfect blend of blends. Definitely worth a visit, putting Tacoma on the map!"
