An uptown Charlotte newcomer, Nuvolé Rooftop TwentyTwo is a cocktail bar and New American spot that's located at 220 E. Trade St., Suite 2200, on the 22nd floor of the AC Hotel. Visitors can expect views of the city's skyline, as well as plenty of beer, wine and handcrafted cocktails.
On the menu, there are small plates like bison tartare served with Yukon potato chips, whipped horseradish, mustard aioli and egg yolk; and lobster club sliders with Duke's mayo, smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato. Town Brewing Company
Town Brewing Company recently opened at 800 Grandin Road in Wesley Heights. The drinks menu features the Broken-Tarted, a session sour with raspberry and hibiscus; the Escape Plan with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, geraniums and pine; and Emotional Support Badger with notes of toasted bread, caramel and just a hint of roast. Another newcomer, Uncle D's Southern Donuts has debuted at 6421 S Blvd. in Starmount. The shop specializes in bundt cake-style doughnuts, with flavors like Southern Red Velvet with vanilla cream icing; The Bootlegger, cinnamon raisin with cinnamon sugar icing; and the Southern Belle made with strawberry cheesecake and topped with strawberry icing.
