The long-awaited Elk Grove outpost of big-box giant Costco Wholesale is now open at 7400 Elk Grove Blvd. (at Bruceville Road). The October 2 grand opening of the store drew a crowd of hundreds, according to the Elk Grove Citizen. It joins five other branches in the Sacramento region, but is the first in Elk Grove.
The membership-based bulk discount store charges members a yearly fee for access to its large and constantly changing selection of low-priced items, from rotisserie chickens to TVs to car tires.
Like most Costcos, the new store has a gas station, a pharmacy, an optical center, a café (with a self-service kiosk) and a bakery. Interested customers can check out many of the items on offer at Costco's website, including those discounted further through its monthly ad.
With a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, the new wholesale store seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
"I am glad Costco has opened a new location in Elk Grove because every weekend it just gets crazily crowded on the one in Stockton Blvd," said Nina B., who reviewed the new spot's soft opening on September 29. "Similar layout as the rest of Costco locations. ... Great alcohol selections and more."
Yelper Kristian D. added, "The exterior is a little nicer than most with an indoor food court with a nice self pay terminal. You can find the same optical center, pharmacy, tire center, bakery, and rotisserie chickens in a much more convenient location."
Interested? Stop by to pick up a rotisserie chicken. Costco Wholesale is open from 10 a.m.–8:30 p.m. on weekdays, 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday.
