Topping the list is Great Lakes Distillery. Located at 616 W. Virginia St. in Walker's Point, it is the highest rated distillery in Milwaukee, boasting 4.5 stars out of 248 reviews on Yelp.

On the drink menu, you'll find spirits like Roaring Dan's Rum and Pumpkin Seasonal Spirit. Take the one-hour tour and learn about the distillery's products and sample a flight of six. After the tour, feast on flatbreads, tacos and burgers.

Next up is Twisted Path Distillery, situated at 2018 S. First St. With five stars out of 17 reviews on Yelp, the distillery, cocktail bar and wine tasting room has proven to be a local favorite.

This Bay View gem has been described as serving high-caliber cocktails with Milwaukee hospitality. According to OnMilwaukee, owner Brian Sammons leads Saturday tours that offer a taste of Twisted Path’s many organic, handcrafted spirits — vodka, gin and dark and white rum. For its fourth birthday in July, the distillery unveiled a cabernet-finished bourbon whiskey that's now in retail stores and area bars.

3. Central Standard Craft Distillery

Walker's Point's Central Standard Craft Distillery, located at 613 S. Second St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the distillery and bar four stars out of 64 reviews.

Central Standard began over a few glasses of bourbon and promises that its "grains are sourced within 150 miles of where you're sitting," according to its website. The distillery's drink menu includes standards like the Moscow Mule as well as seasonal drinks and create-your-own cocktail options. A variety of flights are available, including one that features Kohler Dark Chocolate Brandy.
