A new spot to score sandwiches and pizza has debuted in Somerville. Located in the Bow Market (1 Bow Market Way) in Union Square, the new addition is called Hot Box.

A creation of the proprietors of Mike & Patty’s in Boston’s Bay Village, the menu at Hot Box reflects the food of both the North and South Shores of Boston. Offerings include the North Shore roast beef sandwiches, served with barbecue sauce, mayonnaise and American cheese on a hoagie. There are also South Shore-style pizzas, whether classic, white or the Ghost Pickle, with both dill pickles and ghost pepper cheese.

Pair your meal with drinks from other Bow Market tenants, like Remnant Brewery or Rebel Rebel Wine Bar.

With a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, Hot Box is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Nonet M., who reviewed the new spot on Oct. 10, wrote, "Super delicious! Got half pepperoni/half mushroom. Combine it with a beer at Remnant's beer garden, and your night is a success for sure."

And S A. wrote, "They use only the highest quality meat, cheese and toppings, which is a welcomed change from what one may find in a typical fast-food roast beef shop. Although this could be terrible news for my waistline, the quick ride from Boston into Somerville will undoubtedly be a regularly occurring one."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Hot Box is open from 6–9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 6–10 p.m. on Friday, noon–10 p.m. on Saturday, and noon–8 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
