A new Caribbean spot has opened its doors in the Highland Creek neighborhood. Called Island Cuisine, the fresh addition is located at 5332 Prosperity Church Road, Suite A.
The new spot offers curried chicken patties, vegetable roti, fried chicken, butter shrimp and many more. You'll also find a range of vegan options, including curried vegetables, rasta pasta and stewed mushrooms. (You can view the menu here.)
Island Cuisine has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.
Karl C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 17, wrote, "[It was] the best jerk chicken in Charlotte. True authentic Jamaican food and what I have been looking for."
Yelper Demetria M. added, “The best Jamaican food I've ever had in Charlotte is currently at Island Cuisine. Ms. Suzette and her family are serving up an extensive menu of island favorites.”
