A new spot for bowling, drinks and fun has opened for business in the neighborhood. The newcomer, called Bowlero Bethesda, is located at 5353 Westbard Ave.

It's part of a nationwide chain of food, drink and entertainment venues — a sort of playground for adults. In addition to bowling lanes lit by black lights, you'll find a video arcade, carnival games, darts and pool. Video walls show sports and music videos.

The purposefully over-the-top food menu includes a five-pound burger, two-foot-long hot dog and a pizza cake. Beer and cocktails round things out.

The new arrival has a 3.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

Chris S., who reviewed the new spot on Sept. 21, wrote, "Food was of great quality. Everything was fresh, from the hummus to the sliders. Drinks were exciting concepts. The grapefruit drink was refreshing."

Yelper Max C. added, “It's great for family group dates and time with your squad. There are a lot of things to do, from the bar to actual bowling to pool to playing in the arcade. There is a lot going on on the menu, with crowd pleasers for anyone looking to snack or get quite filled.”

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Bowlero Bethesda is open from 4 p.m.–midnight on Monday and Tuesday, 4–11 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 2 p.m.–1 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.–1 a.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Sunday.
