Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best affordable food trucks in San Antonio, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're on the hunt.
1. Theory Coffee Company

Topping the list is Theory Coffee Company. Located at 2347 Nacogdoches Road, the trailer offers coffee, tea and more. Ranked as the highest-rated cheap food truck in San Antonio, it boasts five stars out of 125 reviews on Yelp.
The trailer is run by Mark Vollmer, who serves locally roasted coffee from Wild Gift Coffee. Look for espressos, cappuccinos, lattes and more. Need a milk alternative? Lactose-free whole milk, oat milk and almond milk are on offer.
2. Honchos - The House of Churros

Next up is Honchos - The House of Churros, situated at 5824 Babcock Road on the Northwest Side. With five stars out of 119 reviews on Yelp, the food truck, which offers churros stuffed or coated with a variety of sweet dips, ice cream and more, has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for an inexpensive option.
According to The Mesquite News, the churros are made in-house based on an 80-year-old recipe from Mexico.

3. The Smoke Shack

The Smoke Shack, a food truck that offers barbecue and more, is another much-loved, low-priced go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 227 Yelp reviews. Head over to 2347 Nacogdoches Road to see for yourself.
Where the Smoke Shack on Broadway got its roots, the food truck has been serving locals and tourists alike for years, including celebrities like Guy Fieri as recently as Oct. 11. The homegrown barbecue business shows no signs of slowing down as it even opened its own meat market this past summer, according to its website.
4. Singhs

Over in Hills and Dales, check out Singhs, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 185 reviews on Yelp. Dig in at the food truck and Vietnamese spot by heading over to 7331 W. Loop 1604th.
The food truck rose to local fame with noodle bowls, banh mi sandwiches and slow-cooked brisket. Launched in 2013, the Viet-Tex favorite just opened its first brick-and-mortar location on the St. Mary's strip, according to San Antonio Current.
5. Nelson's BBQ

And finally there's Nelson's BBQ, a Hills and Dales favorite with five stars out of 62 reviews.
Texas Monthly boasts Nelson’s BBQ is a new bright spot in the expanding barbecue community in San Antonio. It is serving up brisket plates, mac and cheese, baked beans and more. Stop by 7327 N. Loop 1604 West to hit up the food truck and local Southern spot next time you're looking to satisfy your cravings on a budget.
