Hungry? A new neighborhood Mexican restaurant has you covered. Called Viva Tequis Taqueria and Cantina, the newcomer is located at 102 Statesville Road, Suite B-2.
Formerly Tequilas Mexican Restaurant, it has reopened with a new name and a menu focused on Mexican street food, California-style burritos and favorites from the old eatery.
The straightforward menu features an array of tortas filled with carnitas, al pastor, grilled steak, chicken milanese, chorizo and egg. Or, select a tostada with your choice of the following proteins: chicken tinga, steak, grilled chicken, al pastor, lengua, carnitas, barbacoa, grilled shrimp or cactus salad. Made-to-order guacamole, tacos and queso dips are also on offer. Here is the full menu.

With a four-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, Viva Tequis Taqueria and Cantina has gotten a positive response from its clientele.
