First up, Back Bay newcomer Jaho Coffee Roaster & Wine Bar is located at 116 Huntington Ave. This is the fifth outlet for the Salem-based coffee roaster (one is in Japan) and the second to feature the cafe and bar combo.

In the morning, you'll find a full menu of Jaho's coffee and tea, juices and smoothies, plus baked goods and breakfast offerings.

Later in the day, look for salads, wraps and flatbreads. Pair your meal with a glass of wine, beer or a cocktail. The lounge is separate from the cafe and features a fireplace, TVs and a circular marble bar.

Next, Boom Crispy Chicken has opened at 22 Kneeland St. in Chinatown, where The Little Kitchen used to be.

The tiny, mostly takeout spot offers Taiwanese-style fried chicken wings, popcorn chicken, chicken legs and chicken strips. Each is available with a seaweed, cheese or spicy flavoring added, and comes solo or combined with a side of fries.

Besides chicken, there are skewered sausages, curry rice, fish balls and more.

New at 155 Milk St. in the Financial District is Mighty Love Food. At this healthy, fast-casual restaurant, the menu primarily features vegetarian dishes, from morning bowls with steel-cut oats, yogurt or grains to creative salads and sandwiches. Meat-eaters can add Cajun shrimp or rosemary chicken to the salads and sandwiches.

On the menu, look for the Major Stride with cauliflower, beets, grains, greens and toasted pumpkin seeds with a verjus vinaigrette, or the Crushin' It with cumin-scented sweet potato, honey-roasted Brussels sprouts and greens.

Smoothies, herbal tea, fresh juices and fair-trade coffee round out your drink options.
