STEM Day at NOVA Alexandria Campus

First up, National STEM Day may have come and gone on Nov. 8, but Alexandria marches to its own rhythm. This Saturday at Northern Virginia Community College's Alexandria campus, the public is invited to learn about opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. The day features hands-on exhibits, workshops, food, fun and learning. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Alexandria Holiday Sweater Run

Next, don that ugly holiday sweater — a nice one is fine, too — and get ready to run for it. Runners will start at Waterfront Park and head south through Old Town to connect to the George Washington Parkway Trail. There'll be different turnaround options to make routes from 4 miles up to 20 miles to fit all training goals. Afterward, enjoy a discount on brunch at Chadwick's.

Messiah Sing-Along

Finally, the Fairlington United Methodist Church invites you to join its choir in the 17th Annual Messiah Sing-Along. Bring your own sheet of music, or purchase a score of Handel's holiday favorites at the event. A number of other pieces will also be performed.
