It's sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences' new LabX program, which aims to empower individuals, groups and communities to use the sciences in order to make decisions related to their lives. This is a BYOB event in terms of both food and drink.

Women Rock Flashband Showcase

Finally, come hear "flashbands" — temporary ensembles who form and practice especially for one event — play songs from female solo artists and female-fronted bands. It's co-sponsored by This Could Go Boom!, a nonprofit record label whose mission is to curate, create, publish, promote and distribute the musical works of under-represented, gender-diverse people. It will all happen in the upstairs space of the Dupont Circle beer garden and venue Sauf Haus.
